Much has been made of the overnight sensation, Susan Boyle of Scotland, who stunned the world on Britain’s Got Talent with a great voice coming from an unglamourous person. according to reports, she’s an unassuming choirsinger who spent much of her life taking care of her elderly mother.
There are many Susan Boyles in Framingham, with talents not immediately apparent, or recognized. They sing in choirs, volunteer in organizations, serve in town meeting, plant flowers around town, and more. They have the talents of a giving heart and willingness to serve their community. They may not be glamorous, but in their quiet way, they help to make Framingham a better place to live.
FRAMINGHAM, MA — The Christian Science Reading Room in Framingham will join with other Christian Science Reading Rooms around the world for an International Open House on Thursday, April 16 through Sunday, April 19 from 11am to 4pm. During this Open House, participating Reading Rooms will encourage their local communities to visit and learn what these stores have to offer.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — The Framingham History Center’s Edgell Memorial Library, at the corner of Edgell Road and Oak St., has been chosen by the National Trust For Historic Preservation and American Express to compete for a $100,000 grant to restore its magnificent gothic windows. FRAMINGHAM, MA – The Learning Center for the Deaf (TLC) is proud to announce that actress Linda Bove from Sesame Street and co-founder of DeafWest Theatre will visit TLC’s Parent-Infant Program and preschool classrooms at at its Framingham campus on Tuesday, April 7.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Last fall, Edwards Church held a “Day of Spirit,” in which people were invited to experience a variety of opportunities for spiritual renewal: meditation, yoga, art, music. The positive response from the wider community pointed to a strong spiritual yearning among non-church-going residents in the area. Out of this and other similar experiences, a collaborative of churches, clergy, and musicians has formed to offer a new kind of worship opportunity in the Framingham area.
