    Motorists should be prepared to stop as single-lane alternating traffic patterns are in use at several of the construction sites.

    FRAMINGHAM, MA– Roadwork on several major capital improvement projects in town will continue to wind down. Crews will be paving many of the roads that have been under construction during the past several months to prepare for the winter freeze.

    Delays due to traffic and detours around some of the work sites can add to driving times, so motorists should plan accordingly.

    The Town of Framingham’s Department of Public Works / Highway Division / Capital Projects website offers residents and visitors to Framingham helpful information about current and upcoming construction projects.

    Traffic Alert: Less Road, Sewer and Bridge Detours

    Drivers should be prepared to stop as single-lane alternating traffic patterns are in use at sewer and road construction sites along Concord St.

    FRAMINGHAM, MA– As road crews working on capital construction projects in town wind down for the winter, there is less road work, less sewer construction and should be less detours and traffic delays in Framingham.

    Crews will be paving over work sites that are completed and others that will be put on hold until the spring thaw.

    The Fountain Street bridge is no longer on the list!  Work to finish that project has been completed and motorists are once again using the bridge!

    Some night work being done. The Contractor for the East Framingham Sewer Improvements Project will perform overnight milling activities in the intersection of Concord Street and Cochituate Road, Monday, November 28th through Tuesday, November 29th.

    “A” Street – Construction crews will continue to complete site restoration activities, including curbing, loaming and paving on “A” Street, restricting traffic to a one lane alternating traffic pattern while construction is underway. At the end of each work day, normal traffic flow on “A” Street will be restored. Access to side streets and Framingham High School will be maintained.

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – The Framingham Garden Club Inc., is a group of  “energetic doers, passionate about gardening, floral design and community service.”

    The club holds its Annual Green Sale to raise money to fund beautification work around Framingham and to fund the environmental or horticultural related grants and scholarships it awards to Framingham students and teachers.

    Each year The Framingham Garden Club awards two scholarships to high school students who wish to pursue horticultural or environmental related college studies and attend Framingham High School, Marian of Keefe Tech.

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – For nearly four decades the Framingham Rotary Club has run an auction as one of its major fund raising efforts each year.

    In past years the auction was run very much like the popular “Chanel 2 Auction“, where hosts would show and describe auction lots on television and people watching at home would phone-in their bids.

    Last year the Framingham Rotary ran a combination of internet based auctions along with their traditional t.v. auction program.

    This year, the 40th Annual Framingham Rotary Auction will be exclusively online — items will only be auctioned on the internet.

    Vendor space is still avialable for the Framingham Auxiliary Police sponsored Craft Fair that will be held December 10, 2011 at Keefe Tech.

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – The Framingham Auxiliary Police will be holding their twenty-fourth annual Craft Fair from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2011. The fair will be held at the Keefe Vocational Technical High School, 750 Winter Street, Framingham, MA.

    A limited amount of exhibitor space is still available for crafters.

    The Craft Fair will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. where you will find a unique holiday shopping experience.     FRAMINGHAM, MA – Framingham Baseball, Framingham Firefighters, Timothy’s Toy Box, Operation E.L.F., the US Marines, the MA State Police and countless individuals and organizations work to make sure no Framingham child is forgotten during the holiday season.

    FRAMINGHAM, MA – President Obama’s uncle, Onyango “Omar” Obama, who nearly hit FPD Officer Val Krishtal and was subsequently arrested for OUI near the Chicken Bone Saloon in Downtown Framingham on August 24th appeared in court this week for a status hearing on the OUI charge.

    “Uncle Omar” as the President refers to him in his book, “Dreams From My Father“, is an illegal alien, ordered to leave the U.S. two decades ago, but somehow managed to remain in the country, get a social security number, get a job, (at Conti’s Liquors on Concord St. n Framingham), and quietly go about his life in Framingham.

    At the status hearing this week, Onyango Obama’s lawyer, Atty. P. Scott Bratton told Judge Robert Grecco that he would be filing a “Motion to Supress”, claiming the police did not have probable cause to pull his client over in the first place.

    Among other things, what the attorney would be seeking to suppress is the 1.4 breathalyzer results, (nearly twice the legal limit), and all other (more…)

    Danforth Street Bridge remains closed.

    FRAMINGHAM, MA– For the first time this year, there is actually less road work, less sewer construction and should be less detours and traffic delays in Framingham.

    With winter coming many of Framingham’s capital construction projects will be paving over the work sites that are either completed, or will be put on hold until the spring thaw.

    The Fountain Street bridge is no longer on the list!  Work to finish that project has been completed this week and motorists can once again use the bridge.

    Night work along Rt. 126, south of Rt. 9 – near Downtown Framingham, construction crews will begin to install crosswalks, (on Concord Street between Gorman Road and Lincoln Street), on Friday, November 18th through Sunday, November 20th during the overnight hours.
