Framingham, MA – Lieutenant Governor Timothy Murray today joined federal, state, and local officials to announce $8 million in funding from the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) to mitigate chronic traffic congestion at the intersections of Route 126 and Route 135 in downtown Framingham. Framingham North High School Class of 1972 Reunion
Framingham, MA – The Framingham North High School, (FNHS), Class of 1972 will hold its 40th Class Reunion Saturday October 13, 2012 from 6:00pm to midnight at the Elks Hall located at 450 Union Avenue, Framingham.
There will be music, dancing, a full buffet and cash bar. Tickets are $50 per person.

FSU Football Cruises to 30-0 Victory over UMass Dartmouth
Framingham State University RAMS Framingham, MA – Framingham State University senior wide receiver Tyrone Figueroa accounted for a pair of touchdowns as the Rams shutout the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth this afternoon and picked up a 30-0 win in a New England Football Conference (NEFC) cross divisional game at Framingham’s Bowditch Field.
The Rams, who last recorded a shutout on October 1st, 2010 in a 26-0 victory over Massachusetts Maritime Academy, improve to 2-1 on the season, while the Corsairs are still in search of their first victory of the year as they drop to 0-3.

Meet Author Dennis Lehane at Framingham Public Library
Dennis Lehane – Author, Screenwriter, (Photo by Diana Lucas Leavengood) FRAMINGHAM, MA– You’ve read the books and seen the movies — “Mystic River“, “Gone, Baby, Gone“, “Shutter Island“, and “The Given Day” — one of his most recent books which has been hailed as a classic Great American Novel.
Now you can meet famed author and Boston-area native Dennis Lehane, in Framingham.
On Saturday, October 6th, 2012, from 7:00-9:00 p.m., the Framingham Public Library Foundation presents “An Evening With Dennis Lehane”.
A coffee and dessert reception will be followed by a talk and a book signing by Mr. Lehane, a passionate supporter of public libraries.
The New England Mobile Book Fair will be on site selling Mr. Lehane’s books, and all attendees will be entered in a drawing for a signed copy of his novel Moonlight Mile.
Admission to this fund raising event for the Framingham Public Library Foundation is $30 per ticket.

Chris Walsh (D-Framingham), and supporters made a campaign stop Thursday evening to Jack’s Abby brewery in Framingham.
Sannicandro, Walsh, and supporters toured the facilities following a door-to-door canvass, spoke with the owners, and tried some of the craft specials available from the growing company.
“I thought this was a good place to take the team because it represents much of what this campaign is about and what this town is about,” Sannicandro said. “This is a small business that just emerged last year. They’re expanding. They’re benefiting from a growing economy. And most importantly, they brew good beer.”

Few Spots Still Available in Video Production Camp
AF-TV, Public Access T.V. in Framingham, MA FRAMINGHAM, MA – Just a few spots still available in Video Production Camp at Access Framingham!
In August, AF-TV will offer a new Video Production Camp to young people ages 10-12. The dates are Monday, August 13th through Friday, August 17th, from 9:00am to 12:00 noon each day.
Campers will work together to develop and produce an original program. Every child will have a hands-on experience with studio cameras, microphones, control room switcher, graphics and audio. Students interested in video production, editing, and writing are strongly encouraged to participate. The final project will be played on Access Framingham TV and made available online on www.accessfram.tv
All participants will receive a DVD of the show. In order to ensure that each student gets individual attention and the maximum amount of hands-on experience, our class size is limited to 12 campers.
The cost of the one week workshop is $175.00, and includes a one-year AF-TV membership, which enables use of our studio facilities and certification, with parental supervision, to check out AF-TV production equipment to work on additional programming throughout the year.

Fifty Scholarships Awarded by IAFSA
Alumni House, home of IAFSA FRAMNGHAM, MA – The Independent Association of Framingham State Alumni (IAFSA) is pleased to announce its 2012-2013 scholarship winners.
IAFSA offers approximately 30 scholarships and awards to Framingham State University students as well as interest-free loans. Some scholarships have multiple recipients. Scholarships and loan funding are provided by donations, bequests, and rental of the Alumni House.
This year IAFSA is granting awards to a record 50 Framingham State University students. Scholarships range from $250 to $3,000.
Two Framingham students, Gilana Telles and Tamara Rosario, were selected to receive the new Murtaugh Scholarship. The Murtaugh Scholarship honors the memory of former Framingham residents Thomas H. and (more…)
