FRAMINGHAM, MA — On Saturday, May 10, 2008, the Greater Framingham Track Club, in conjunction with Framingham State College, will sponsor a 3.2 mile road race. This event is a yearly tribute to a beloved teacher and former Framingham State Academic Vice President, Arthur Doyle, who died tragically in 2002 as a result of a car accident.
Art’s last years were focused on the innovative laptop program at FSC that resulted in Framingham State College being the first 4-year public college in Massachusetts to require all entering freshmen to have laptop computers.
All proceeds from the road race go directly to The Arthur M. Doyle Scholarship, and every year a laptop is awarded in his memory to a deserving student.
Race day is a chance to pay tribute to a gifted educated, leader, athlete and wonderful human being. Even if you cannot attend donations are welcome in his memory. Please click on the following link, http://www.framingham.edu/Athletics, to access an online race/donation form.
