FRAMINGHAM, MA – Roadwork continues on numerous road and sewer projects in town this week, (Monday through Friday, July 30th through August 3rd, 2012).
Delays due to lane restriction, alternating traffic patterns and detours around some of the work sites can add to driving times, so motorists should plan accordingly.

The email traffic alert for the week of July 30th – August 3rd, 2012 indicates that:
“A” Street – It is anticipated that construction crews will mobilize to “A†Street to install fiber optic conduit. While construction is in progress, traffic through the work zone will be maintained utilizing a one lane alternating traffic management plan. Construction activities are scheduled to take place between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Chouteau Ave. / LaSalle Ave. / Lake Rd. / Lakeview Ave. – Construction crews will continue to install temporary water main bypass piping on Chouteau Avenue, LaSalle Avenue, Lake Road and Lakeview Avenue. Crews will also continue to install deep gravity sewer main on Choteau Avenue. While construction is in progress it will be necessary to detour local traffic around the work zone. Expect delays while traveling in this area. Construction activities are scheduled to take place between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Eaton Rd. / Eisenhower Rd. – Construction crews will continue to performing sewer main construction working from Eisenhower Road to the Eaton Road cul-de-sac. While construction is in progress, traffic through the work zone will be managed utilizing a one lane alternating traffic management plan. Expect delays while traveling in this area. Construction activities are scheduled to take place between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Grant St. / Clinton St. / Arthur St. – Construction crews will continue to perform water main construction on Grant Street between Howard Street and Arthur Street. While construction is in progress, Grant Street may be locally detoured and may require lane shifts and potentially the use of a one lane alternating traffic management plan through the work zone. An additional crew will continue to temporary watermain bypass piping on Clinton Street and Arthur Street. During the installation of the temporary watermain bypass piping it will be necessary to implement a one lane alternating traffic management plan. Expect delays while travelling in this area. Construction activities are scheduled to take place daily between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Mellen St. / Coburn St. / Winthrop St. / Saucier St. / Bridges St. – Construction crews will continue to perform punch list work on Mellen Street, Coburn Street, Winthrop Street, Saucier Street and Bridges Street. While construction is in progress, traffic will be jogged through the work zone using lane shifts and potentially the use of a one lane alternating traffic management plan. Construction activities are scheduled to take place daily between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Pleasant St – The Department of Public Works Highway Division will continue to perform roadway reconstruction activities on Pleasant Street between Vernon Street and Mill Street. While construction activities are in progress, traffic through the work zone will be managed utilizing a one lane alternating traffic management plan. All construction activities are scheduled to take place between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Expect delays while traveling in this area. Prospect St. – Construction crews will begin to mobilize on Prospect Street to being to install construction signage, tree protections and surveying. It is anticipated that this work will cause a minor disruption to traffic flows in the area, please use caution as traffic will be jogged around the work zone using lane shifts or one lane alternating traffic management plans.
School St. / Concord St., North – Construction activities will continue at the intersection of School Street and Concord Street with the installation of deep gravity sewer main. Traffic is currently being jogged around the work zone and two lanes of traffic are currently being maintained. Upon completion of the installation of the deep gravity sewer main at the intersection of School Street and Concord Street, crews will begin to install a local collector sewer main on Concord Street between School Street and “A” Street. It is anticipated that traffic through the work zone will be managed utilizing a one lane alternating traffic management plan. Construction activities are scheduled to take place daily between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Expect delays while travelling in the area.
Concord St., South (Rt. 126 south of Rt. 9) – Construction crews will mobilize on Hollis Street to perform water main and sewer main construction activities between Waverly Street and Hollis Court. While construction is in progress on Hollis Street; Hollis Street will be reduced to a single lane of travel for both northbound and southbound traffic, please use caution when travelling in this area. In order to maintain public safety, minimize adverse impacts on emergency response time, traffic flows and business in general, construction activities will be performed during the overnight hours between 8:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. Sunday through Thursday.
Valentine Rd. – Sewer main construction will continue on Valentine Road. While construction activities are in progress Valentine Road will be open to local traffic and emergency vehicles only, all other traffic will be temporarily detoured. Construction activities are scheduled to take place between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Framingham DPW Roadway Program – The DPW Highway Division will continue to perform roadway modifications in the following locations: Burbank Circle, Corrine Drive, Davidson Road, Gregory Road, Hadley Road, Joyce Road, Lancaster Drive, Oakvale Road, Overlook Drive West, Rolling Lane, Sloan Drive, Whittemore Road. Roadway construction activities are scheduled to take place between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Expect delays when traveling in these areas.
