FRAMINGHAM, MA– For the first time this year, there is actually less road work, less sewer construction and should be less detours and traffic delays in Framingham.
With winter coming many of Framingham’s capital construction projects will be paving over the work sites that are either completed, or will be put on hold until the spring thaw.
The Fountain Street bridge is no longer on the list! Work to finish that project has been completed this week and motorists can once again use the bridge.
Night work along Rt. 126, south of Rt. 9 – near Downtown Framingham, construction crews will begin to install crosswalks, (on Concord Street between Gorman Road and Lincoln Street), on Friday, November 18th through Sunday, November 20th during the overnight hours. Construction activities are schedule to take place nightly between 7:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Please use caution while travelling in this area and expect delays while work is in progress.
“A” Street – Construction crews will continue to complete vault appurtenances on “A” Street, restricting traffic to a one lane alternating traffic pattern while construction is underway. At the end of each work day, normal traffic flow on “A” Street will be restored. Access to side streets and Framingham High School will be maintained.
Arthur Street – Construction crews will continue trench restoration work on Arthur Street in preparation for the winter. While this work is in progress, it will be necessary to restrict traffic to a one lane alternating traffic pattern through the work zone. Construction activities will take place daily between 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Beulah Street and Worcester Road, (Route 9 near Framingham Centre) – Construction crews will continue to install new sewer main on Beulah Street. While construction is in progress Beulah Street will be restricted to local traffic only from Auburn Street Ext. and will be closed at the intersection of Route 9 westbound.
Concord Street, (Rt. 126, north of Worcester Road/Rt.9)– Construction crews have begun to perform temporary restoration activities along “A” Street. While temporary restoration activities are in progress; it will be necessary to utilize a single lane alternating traffic pattern through the work zone. Temporary restoration activities will take place daily between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Construction crews are currently working between Old Connecticut Path and Summer Street installing double force mains, local collector sewer, deep gravity sewer, sewer services and drainage. While construction is in progress; southbound traffic on Concord Street will be detoured from Concord Street to Summer Street, from Summer Street to Beacon Street and from Beacon Street to Cochituate Road back onto Concord Street. Access to properties and side streets will be maintained throughout construction. Construction activities will take place daily between 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Concord Street, (Rt. 126, South of Worcester Road/Rt.9) – Construction crews will continue to work in this area performing, clean-up activities, loaming and seeding, curbing and trench restoration. Construction activities will take place between 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Danforth Street Bridge – the bridge continues to remain closed during re-construction.
