FREE Family Art – Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (at Danforth Art)

FREE Admission 12:00pm-5:00pm *** Danforth Art Museum and School invites families to learn and play together at a FREE special Martin Luther King, Jr. day program on Monday, January 19th, 2015 from 12:00pm until 5:00pm *** Special Gallery & Studio Activities 2:00-4:00pm *** Celebrate the legacy of Civil Rights leader Dr. King and explore the artwork of Meta Vaux Warrick Fuller, Faith Ringgold, and John Wilson. *** Studio projects will include: Multi-Media Abstractions- Inspired by John Wilson’s prints, play with ideas of scale and contrast as you make a layered abstracted creation *** Patterned Pictures- Work with patterned textiles to create a quilt-like design inspired by Faith Ringgold’s lithograph The Sunflower Quilting Bee at Arles *** Gallery activities will include: Guided Gallery Tours of the artwork of Meta Vaux Warrick Fuller and John Wilson *** Story Time: Who Was Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.? *** Collaborative Mural Project *** Danforth Art, 123 Union Ave, Framingham, MA 01702
