Africa Mission Group Fundraising Event (at Plymouth Church)
A fundraising event in support of Plymouth Church’s Africa Mission will be held in the church’s Parish Hall (87 Edgell Road, Framingham) on Sunday Jan. 22nd, 2012 from 4:30 to 7:00 PM. *** Featured highlights of the evening will include a live musical performance by DrumConnection’s African-style drumming troupe, “Here Makono” (Waiting for Happiness), a screening of a short musical video entitled Stories of Fresh Water and a potluck buffet supper. *** Mr. Ron Reed of Chico CA, founder of the Kilolo Star Water Project, and his associate Mr. Castor Sanguya of Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania will address the gathering with updates on the well drilling efforts in Tanzania. *** Rev. Peter Cook, Senior Minister of Plymouth Church will speak on the Africa Mission activities as well as plans for another trip in 2013. *** All interested individuals are invited to attend. *** We will also be selling Tanzanian handicrafts such as jewelry, fabrics, baskets, framed photographs and unique paintings called TingaTinga. *** Since 2005 the Africa Mission at Plymouth Church has been involved in humanitarian outreach to the village of Pommern in the Iringa province of Tanzania. Activities include the drilling of 23 fresh water wells and construction of classrooms as well as choral music and cultural exchange trips both to and from Tanzania. *** (A special note to Patriot’s fans: You’ll be able to attend our event and keep tabs on the AFC Championship game as we will have a large screen TV tuned in to the broadcast.) *** More information is available on the Plymouth Church / Pommern website.
