Hurricanes, Earthquakes and Tornados Do Happen in MA!

Hurricanes, Earthquakes and Tornados do happen in MA! *** Become better prepared! *** With this in mind, The Framingham Medical Reserve Corps, (MRC), invites you to Framingham’s third annual “Get Ready” event on September 24, 2011 from 10:00a.m. – 12:00 noon. *** The event will be held in the Costin Room of the Framingham Public Library, 49 Lexington, Street, Downtown Framingham. *** Because natural disasters, disease outbreaks and other hazards can occur at any time, the Framingham MRC wants to remind you that it’s never too early to get prepared. *** This event is being held in conjunction with “National Get Ready Month”, a national effort that works to help Americans prepare themselves, their families and their communities for all types of emergencies. *** A 72-hour kit will be on display, with instructions on how to make your own. *** One fully stocked 72-hour kit will be given away as a door prize to one lucky attendee. *** At 10:30 there will be a presentation on volunteers’ experiences at the Springfield shelters following the June 2011 tornado. *** There will also be information available about the MRC, and how to become a member. *** Current members can pick up their badges or order one. *** The MRC is made up of medical and non-medical residents who volunteer their time and expertise to prepare for and respond to community emergencies and promote healthy living throughout the year. *** Refreshments will be served. *** For more information please call the Framingham Public Health Nurses at 508-532-5470 or visit the MRC website, (see link below).
