SOAR 55 Celebrates Service in Framingham

Help SOAR 55, a program of Newton Community Service Center, “celebrate service” in Framingham and Metro West by joining us for the first anniversary commemoration of SOAR 55’s Framingham Public Library Satellite Office on Thursday, May 12, 7-8:30 pm at the Library, Costin room, 49 Lexington Street, Framingham. SOAR 55 mobilizes adults age 55 and over to contribute their experience and skills to help strengthen and expand the capacity of local community service organizations. SOAR 55 volunteers serve in Ashland, Framingham, Natick, Newton, Wayland, Wellesley and Weston.Hear from SOAR 55 volunteers, nonprofit staff, and community leaders, including guest speaker Representative Chris Walsh, about how our program has benefited the MetroWest community. A group of panelists including Lois Levick, SOAR 55 Volunteer Coordinator at the Framingham Public Library, SOAR 55 Nonprofit Management Consultant, Dan Sharry, Laura Winig, Executive Director of Venturing Out and Mary Gianakis, Director of Voices Against Violence will share their experiences about how volunteering provides connection and strengthens community.
