Lifelong Learning Series: “Murder at Noon- Day:” The 1806 Trial of Thomas O. Selfridge

Guest Speaker: Dr. Daniel Breen, Assistant Professor of History, Newbury College.Wednesday, November 10, 7:00-8:30pm. In 1806 Boston, the notorious Federalist lawyer, Thomas O. Selfridge killed Charles Austin, son of the leader of Boston’s Republican Party. Selfridge had to answer for his crime both in a court of law and before the bar of a bitterly divided public opinion.Refreshments.
